Background

St. John Neumann is the patron saint of sick children, immigrants and was popular for healing.

With anyone who is diagnosed with a terminal illness, there are a series of emotions that you go through such as anger, fear, and confusion. His sister had recommended to Nhien to visit the National Shrine of St. John Neumann in Philadelphia. That visit fundamentally changed his faith and outlook on his disease.

As he was physically capable, he would continue to visit the church every week to bring fresh flowers and change the water for the shrine of our lady of Fatima. He was able to live an additional 12 incredible years (after being faced with an initial 6 month lung cancer prognosis). He has been able to enjoy meeting/ knowing his grandkids, creating a home in his favorite city San Diego and he lived and loved every extra piece of time God allowed.

Nhien truly believed in the power of healing through St. John Neumann and wanted to share his power with others. So he built a shrine in Vinh-Long, Vietnam dedicated to St. John Neumann.

We thank you for your consideration of a memorial donation to St John Neumann
