Growing up, I felt as though our parents were invincible. Through our sicknesses, and theirs, they stood strong. They guided us, instilled wisdom in us, taught us the ways of the world, embarrassed us a few times and showed us an immeasurable amount of love.
The older we got, the more fragile they became in our eyes, but nevertheless, they were still a constant in our lives. The idea that they would one day, leave us, is something I try not to think about, but must acknowledge. The truth is, all our parents will leave us for something greater. And your mom is already on her way there.
I’m sorry you had to experience this but know you all are not alone. Reach out if there is anything y’all need. Sending lots of love and prayers.
