Newland Gifford Hamilton, aged 68, passed away on May 29, 2024, in Fort Myers, Florida. He was born on December 29, 1955, in Hanover, Jamaica. Newland was a lovable, friendly, and hard-working man who came from Jamaica and dedicated his life to providing the best for his children.
He was known for being the life of the party as well as for his approachable nature, charisma, and love for cooking, fishing, and gardening. A true handyman, Newland could grow, fix, or build just about anything. He was an animal lover who always had pets and cared for animals in need.
Newland is survived by six children, Yolandie, Iris, Patricia, Honsine, Katy, and Marcus, along with six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and one adopted grandchild, and former spouses Joanne, Linda, and Megzie. He was preceded in death by his parents Hziek and Iris, as well as an unknown number of siblings.
Newland's ashes will be returned to Jamaica, as per his wishes, with no memorial services planned. Contributions towards the transportation of his ashes can be made by reaching out to a family member. Mortuary Services of Florida in Fort Myers, Florida, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
