Background
Last Christmas, our family received the incredible news that my mom was cancer-free. We were overjoyed, believing the long battle had finally come to an end. But just weeks later, in January, we learned that the cancer had returned aggressively, spreading to areas that could not be surgically removed.
After undergoing more chemotherapy, radiation, and countless procedures, my mom’s health continued to decline. Just two weeks after my birthday, she called me late at night in critical condition, and my partner and I rushed her to MD Anderson Cancer Center. She endured over a month of hospitalizations, treatments, and procedures, followed by two weeks at an inpatient hospice facility. Around midnight, she passed peacefully.
Because of her cancer, she was denied life insurance coverage, and the years of surgeries and treatments depleted her finances—leaving significant debts that began to bleed into mine. We are raising funds to help cover her funeral expenses and outstanding medical costs.
