She was my kinder teacher, and one of the only ppl in my life to understand my ways even as a child so young. She didnt give up on me and I feel like I shouldn't give up on herm we stayed in touch until her passing when I was 32. I miss her so much that it hurts to think of her. When I think of 2021 and 4 ppl to pass away, this one hit way too hard.

My condolences to Nelly's family, friends, coworkers and associates.
I first met Nelly through the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, multi cultural events and the Paterson Education Fund. She invited me to help carry the Peruvian Flag in the annual parade from Clifton to Paterson City Hall, an incredible experience with the Latino community.
Nelly was a catalyst for change and a dedicated leader; The City of Paterson, The Paterson Education Fund, the Peruvian Community, the Girl Scouts, plus many more altruistic passions.
I am truly grateful to have been in Nelly's path and will continue to honor her passion of empowering people through education, while keeping a special interest on our precious young students.
