We regretfully announce the passing of Neil Himmel, age 53, of Toronto, Canada, who passed away on December 26, 2025, just thirteen days after his birthday. 

 Neil was born on December 15, 1972, in Toronto, Canada, and was lovingly adopted by his parents, Janelle and Alan Himmel, when he was just two weeks old. At the age of two, Neil and his family moved to Venezuela for a couple of years before returning to the United States, where he grew up in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles, California. When Neil was in his 30s he went back to Toronto to meet with his biological family. He remained there for the rest of his life. 

 From an early age, Neil was known as a sweet and caring child who grew into a deeply loving and compassionate adult. Standing at 6 feet 5 inches tall, Neil was larger than life, both in presence and in spirit. His charismatic personality, warmth, and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone he met. 

Neil possessed an extraordinary ability to connect with others. His innate kindness, empathy, and selflessness guided his life, and he consistently placed the needs of others before his own. He was especially protective of those who were most vulnerable, offering understanding, support, and encouragement without hesitation. Neil lived by example, showing that true worth is found not in what one accumulates, but in what one gives away. Above all, he loved his family and friends dearly. 

Neil is survived by his parents, Janelle and Alan, and his brothers, Marc and Max, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
