Nealy's obituary
Nealy Ann Dewberry Bradley
November 27, 1934 to July 18, 2025
Free thinker, fiercely independent, kind, loving friend to all, Nealy was always quick witted, sharp and clever to her last day. Her passions included baseball (hot dog!), reading, the beach, crossword puzzles, Jeopardy, gardening, painting and political activism.
Nealy was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia by her parents Hilsman Augustus and Margaret Mary (Smith) Dewberry. She moved to Dunedin, Florida in 1960.
Nealy’s proudest accomplishment was being a Mother of six children, all of whom she loved unconditionally.
Her legacy is proudly carried on by her family - daughters Kathleen Penning (Tom), Riverside, California; Mary Bradley (Jerry Weichmann), Paradise Valley, Arizona; Jane Smart (Rick), Palm Harbor, Florida; and Sarah Bradley (Constantine Nichols), Clearwater, Florida; and sons Bill Bradley (Eldy Douglas) and Paul Bradley, both of Dunedin, Florida; her sister Kay Guenther, Dunedin, Florida; her nephew/godson, Michael Dewberry, Modoc, South Carolina; grandchildren: Alex Smart (Ren Erdman), Chicago, Illinois; Nick Smart (Nicole), Tampa, Florida; and Molly Penning, San Francisco, California; plus many dear and lifelong friends like Scott, Ruth, Maureen, Kerry and Martin among others who are her extended family.
There will be no service as per Nealy’s wishes. Donations may be made to PBS or charity of your choice.
A family remembrance will be held at a later date and while Nealy said she wished she could join us, she promises to be there in spirit!
