It’s more what I learned from Neal’s wife, Diane: It’s perseverance, it’s stick to-it- ness. It’s what i suspect Diane learned from Neal or is it what Neal learned from Diane?🤔😥
In response to "What made Neal different from most people you know?"
I am so sorry for your loss, Diane.  Neal had great energy and gave generously of his time and talents.  It was a pleasure to be present as he shared them at Holy Wisdom.  May your memories give you peace and the love and support of those who love you give you comfort.

Dear Diane and family,

Neal passed away when Paul and I were on vacation, and we just found out today (November 17).  Please accept our heartfelt condolences.

You both offered us a warm welcome when we showed up at St Benedict Center (now Holy Wisdom Monastery).   Fond memories of Neal will always be linked with those we have of the Monastery, with which he had such an important and fruitful relationship through the years.

PEACE,

Peter Hoff & Paul Patenaude

Diane,

It was one of my true pleasures working with Neal. He was one of my favorites. He was an incredible man and will be missed.  I'm sending hugs, love, and prayers to you. Don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything

Diane -

My sympathy to you and Kristin on Neal’s loss. His dedication to the Sisters, Holy Wisdom and their mission was evident in his work and life.  May comfort and love surround you.

Christine Melland

Diane I am so sorry for your loss. Neal was a remarkable person gifting me his time early on to share the history of Holy Wisdom. His spirit, work and vision will live on in the place, the people and the land. We are so grateful for his many decades of contributions and leadership making Holy Wisdom the remarkable place that it is. He will be so very missed and remembered so very often.

Much love,

Diane, our condolences on the loss of Neal.  God bless you and your family as you celebrate a life so well-lived.  Jean and I were blessed to get to know you two years ago at St. Paul's.
Neal was a good friend and co-worker for many years.  The world has lost a good man. My heartfelt sympathy to Diane and his family.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Neil.  It was a privilege to have worked with him.   I will always fondly remember his dedication to his family, work at Holy Wisdom & his good spirit.

Neal was a valued member of A Troop 4th Squadron 12th Cavalry Regiment. From his time in Vietnam to his service with the Troop after we started getting together in 2001. He was a good friend and a person you could share a good laugh with. Our Prayers go out to Diane and the rest of the family in this time of physical loss, remembering the resurrection and ascension into Heaven. Neal, help lead the way for your brothers to Fiddlers Green when we are all together again.

Linda and I will miss Neal as the years go by
