Personal note from Our Deepest Gratitude and Thanks to First Responders

If there were medals for heroism Jake Watson, Matthew Watson, and Bradley Willard deserve them. Jake crawled on his knees, with injuries, in the snow over a mile to devise a way to mobilize people for help and continued to direct and relentlessly transport other first responders to the scene that day. His brothers, Matthew and Bradley, first dug one another out from under the snow and then desperately began searching and trying to rescue Nate and his dogs, Bea and Kenai. These fine young men, all of the first responders involved in the Search and Rescue, as well as Nate’s best friend, Trevor Hornby, and all of their families deserve our deepest gratitude and continued connectedness and prayers.

Nate loved people with a loyalty that is unfathomable to many. He expressed adamantly that he wanted his family and friends all to be together and be joyful, even after his death. He loved unconditionally. Nate never gave up. We invite the public to celebrate the life of our beloved Nate Schmidt this Saturday, March 5, 2022.
