Nathaniel's obituary
- It is with profound joy that we announce the pure gain of Nathaniel "Chuckie" Jolley as an Esteemed Ankhcestor, who will remain a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather. Born on May 26, 1970, Chuckie left us on December 30, 2023. Known for his exuberant personality, he was truly joy incarnate. He was adored by many and his legacy will remain the supreme celestial knowledge he has left behind.
Nathaniel is survived by his devoted wife, Delphine Delores, whom he married in 2021. He is a proud father to Nathaniel Jolley, Quanashia Jolley, and Camrine Penn. Nathaniel's love and guidance will also be missed by his precious sister, Hope Jolley & her Esom, as well as his treasured grandchildren Avan, DeMarcus, and Heaven. In addition, his Spiritual Parents The Reverend & Mrs. Amos Bailey, along with their daughters Cammy and Chanda, welcomed and adored Chuckie and Hope with wondrous love and non judgemental mentalities. Chuckie always placed them well above so many others in his heart and mind.
Predeceased by his parents Belynda Dunn and Nathaniel Jolley, and by his brothers Shabazz Jolley and Naafie Jolley, he also mourns the loss of his son James Murphy. This sense of loss is a poignant reminder of the impermanence of life, but Chuckie firmly believed in the fact of the thing is the fact of the thing - a pragmatism that served him throughout his life.
Known by many for his love of any kind of fish and coffee, Chuckie was a man of distinct tastes. A fan of NCIS and any movie featuring Denzel Washington, he was also a keen gamer, with Halo and Crisis among his favourite pastimes. An avid reader, one of his beloved books was 'A Message to the Black Man in America'.
His love of calisthenics, gaming and obtaining and applying knowledge kept him active and mentally sharp. A great admirer of Bob Marley's art and music, his personal cause has always been Black Empowerment. His favorite color, green, was reflective of his vibrant personality.
Chuckie's life was marked by notable accomplishments, chief among them his children, who will carry his lessons and love forward. He fought his battle against cancer with resilience and courage, leaving us with a bold statement - Fuck cancer, with no Vaseline.
As we remember and cherish Chuckie, we are reminded that his spirit and wisdom continue to live on in those who knew and loved him. His legacy is one of joy, knowledge, and resilience, and he will be deeply missed.
