Nathan's obituary
Nathan Clark Stevens
August 26, 1966 - February 12, 2022
Nathan Clark Stevens passed away on February 12, 2022, at 10:15 p.m. in Seattle, Washington, where he was hospitalized for pneumonia and cardiac complications. He was born on August 26, 1966, to Marvin Brice Stevens and Sharon Lee Johnson Stevens in Provo, Utah.
He attended Chelan High School and graduated in 1984. He studied at Brigham Young University before serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Colombia, Bogota Mission.
As a young man, he enjoyed working at the Lake Chelan Golf Course and for the Parks Department. Perhaps, in his youth, his favorite job was managing the mini golf course in Lake Chelan. He also worked for his grandparents cold fruit storage warehouse, in Sunnyside, during the summers with his cousins. Sports were a major passion throughout his life. In high school, he was on the Lake Chelan basketball exhibition team, and excelled at tennis. He loved going to dances, played the trumpet, and performed with the show choir. He would later pass on his love for sports and music to his 8 children.
Service was an integral part of his life. His siblings and many friends remember experiences where he went out of his way to help with a flat tire, host dinners, and of course, he always kept people laughing. He was an Eagle Scout and served much in his community. On his mission in Colombia, he worked relentlessly for two years. He loved the people there, and they loved him. He lit up a room with his larger than life personality.
After his mission and time spent at Brigham Young University, he began working in telecommunications and held many leadership roles from Senior Manager to Regional Director. His role at the time of his passing encompassed improving call centers in South America. He was exceptional at communicating with people both in English and Spanish.
On June 8, 1988, he married Linda Casper Stevens in the Seattle Washington Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Between 1990 and 1998, they were blessed with eight children. While raising children, they lived in Provo, Utah; Franklin, Massachusetts; Mill Creek, Washington; and Eagle, Idaho.
He is survived by his mother, Sharon Lee Johnson Stevens; his sister, Suzanne Marie Stevens Knowlton; and his brothers Matthew Allen Stevens, Darren Kent Stevens, and Brett Michael Stevens.
His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He is survived by the mother of his children, Linda Casper Stevens; his daughters, Mikaela Ann, Makenzie Lee, and Alyssa Joann, married to Russell Jay Steed; his sons, Jacob Andrew, married to Jordan Rose Setser; Zachary William, married to Marlee McCall Markus; Braeden Michael, Devin Bryce, and Nicholas Nathan; his granddaughter, Eden Clark Steed; his grandsons, Calvin Blake Stevens, Theo Jay Steed, Grayson Jay Stevens, Huxley Russell Steed, and Cooper Dean Stevens.
He loved playing with his grandchildren, cooking, and
sharing memories and laughs with his children. He became known for exceptional recipes that have been passed on to his children who will continue making brownies, dips, Navajo enchiladas and other mouthwatering dishes in his honor.
Funeral services will be held February 26th, 2022, in Kennewick, Washington, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Hansen Park building at 11 a.m., (PT) followed by burial services at Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Richland, Washington.
