How you can help

Naomi was my mother, and her twin Nadine was my aunt. They were my best friends and helped me to overcome so many of life's obstacles including helping me to raise my daughter that I am a single mother to. The twins didn't pass away the same day, but I believe that a part of my aunt left this earth the day she had to say good-bye to her sister and her best friend. The last three years of Nadine's life she battled cancer of the eye, which she faught tooth and nail resulting in the loss of her entire eye. I spent most of my days caring for her the best I could, but it was clear that she has missed her sister so much and was very tired. She had other family including a niece and nephew and great niece from her older sister. Her nephew had a son and daughter that was brought into the family. She enjoyed staying home and staying away from chaos. She loved animals and loved to laugh. She encouraged me through college and would listen to most of my theories and always believed in me just like she was my mom.
My mother who passed away a few years prior loved me and her granddaughter....almost to a fault. She encouraged me through school and loved her job as a mother and also her position at her place of employment. Together time with her sister was the happiest that I ever saw her. She and my father had divorced and her sister moved in almost immediately after.
We have all lived together as one big loving family.
The loss of these two women in mine and my daughters life has left such a void in my life. I struggle for any type of normalcy for me and my daughter and I know that the twins are no longer in pain and that brings me a sense of peace and calming to the situation.
Grieving the twins has been very difficult because although my daughter and I are struggling financially, we are still missing the most important thing that they ever offered to us....LOVE.
