Nancy's obituary
Nancy Lou Zillmer (nee Frost), long time resident of Grand Rapids, MI, and most recently residing in Lakewood, WA, passed away peacefully at St Clair Hospital at the grand old age of 91. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Carl “Tim” H. Zillmer in 1998, her father Arthur Robert Frost, her mother Mary Margaret Poel, her sister Margaret “Peggy” Phillips, as well as her son Marc (2014) and son Bret (2019). She is survived by her remaining sister, Judy Timpson; children Eric (Deb) Zillmer, Kris (Becky) Zillmer, and Beth Zillmer; and by grandchildren Jeston (Mikki) Carter, Melisa (Isaac) Phillips and their daughters Dianthia and Elizabeth; Brandon (Lindsey) Zillmer and their children Carter and Kenadee; Logan (Whitney) Zillmer and their daughters Charlie and Rowan; Taylor (Eric) Zeigler and their son Marshall; Ryan Zillmer, Alyssa Zillmer, Taime Zillmer and her children Mia and Jaxon; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her half-brother Bob (Marsha) Frost and half-sister Sue (Fred) Downey.
Though both were born and raised and long resided in Grand Rapids, MI, a job opportunity relocated Nancy and Tim to Tucson, AZ in late 1983. But after some time in the desert, and with a new opportunity in the Northwest, which Tim discovered and came to love while stationed there during his stint in the Army, they relocated again to the Seattle-Tacoma area in 1990. Nancy returned to Grand Rapids for a few short years in 2007, returning again to the Tacoma area until her passing.
Before leaving Michigan, Nancy was a long-time volunteer with the Minnie Cumnock Blodgett Guild, serving in the cafeteria of Blodgett Hospital in East Grand Rapids. She also enjoyed bowling, being on an adult league with friends, as well as playing bridge, and reading. She will be greatly missed by all the family and friends that she leaves behind. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make a donation to a children's cancer charity of your choice. Thank you.
