Nancy's obituary
Nancy Lynne VanPeeren, of Frankfort, passed away January 8, 2025, in her home.
She was born in Mt. Clemens, MI on March 31, 1951, the daughter of Donald Carl Bennett and Gladys Pauline (Herzfeld) Bennett.
Nancy had many great accomplishments, however her proudest accomplishment by far was being a loving wife of 55 years to her husband Lyle, and a devoted mother to her children Scott and Tracy. Her grandchildren, Melena and Marianna, held a special place in her heart, she loved being an active part of their lives by attending their school events, dance competitions, hockey games, award ceremonies, concerts, birthday parties, graduations, etc. .
Nancy was a beautiful person inside and out. Her smile was so stunning it would light up the whole room. She cared deeply for the people around her. Another way she showed love was cooking your favorite food or making a beautiful homemade card to share with you. Nancy could be strong willed and stubborn at times sticking to her guns about her convictions in order to do what was best for others..
Nancy retired from the State of Michigan as a social worker and over the years she volunteered many years for many organizations and events most recently for BACN.
She made an impact on many lives. She will be forever missed. Until we meet again.
She is survived by her loving husband, Lyle, children Scott Van Peeren, and Tracy (Michael) Barth, granddaughters Melena and Marianna Barth, brothers James Bennett, Ron (Kathy) Bennett and Gary Bennett, sisters Linda Diener and Sandy (Richard) Allor, multiple sisters-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Nancy's life will be held in Frankfort on April 26, 2025 at the American Legions Hall at 2:00 pm and at Lakeview High School in St. Clair Shores on May 10, 2025 at 2:00 pm.
