Nancy's obituary

Nancy Lee (Dart) Staley became an angel on December 22, 2023. She was born on June 15, 1947 to Donald & Maxine Dart of Swartz Creek, Michigan. Nancy was the oldest sibling to her sisters Cheryl Jones, Debbie (Jeff) Cook, and brother Craig (Laveda) Dart. Nancy married the love of her life, Jim Staley, on August 5, 1967 and had two daughters, Lisa (Frank) Kvietok of Aurora, CO, and Sandy (Dale) Haynick of Portage, MI. Nancy and Jim lived in Enfield, CT for over 50 years raising their daughters and making lifelong friendships with all their neighbors, and moved back to Michigan in 2020 to be closer to family. Nancy and Jim traveled the world during their 56 years of marriage, including Australia, New Zealand, Machu Picchu, Peru, Europe and the Mediterranean, Aruba, numerous islands in the Caribbean, Russia, Greenland, Iceland, and all over the US including Alaska and Hawaii. Nancy loved quilting after she retired, and made quilts, blankets, and table decorations for her whole family. She loved to cook and bake – she was famous for her chocolate chip cookies and Oreo dessert! Family was the world to Nancy! She loved her grandchildren Carly, Henry, and Tad Kvietok, Matt (Betsy) Haynick, and Mark (Jessica) Haynick, and great-grandchildren Avery, Allison and Emmett Haynick, plus lots of spoiled granddogs! She will be missed dearly by all her family, extended family, neighbors and friends. We will celebrate her life on May 4, 2024 at 12:30 pm at the Richland Community Center, Richland, MI. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Kalamazoo Animal Rescue (http://www.kalamazooanimalres…) or the American Heart Association (https://ahatribute.funraise.o…)
