I worked with Nancy for more than 30 years. Nancy was special. Truly. She was smart, intuitive, courageous, tough, meticulous, and rigorously intellectually honest . . . and a kind and gentle friend. As a mutual colleague from Europe wrote me recently, “Nancy absolutely belonged to this small group of people that made working in the postal sector for me such a memorable experience. She will be missed.” Amen. ( I attempted to comment earlier but apparently made a mistake in posting).

Nancy hired me at FedEx 22 years ago in Brussels. She taught me everything I know about aviation law, government affairs, FedEx and much more. My career at FedEx would not have been possible without her support and guidance. She was highly respected within the aviation community and had many friends and admirers in Washington. I and everyone else at FedEx who had the good fortune to work with Nancy will miss her very much.

Wonderful Nancy. I am so sad about this terrible news.
I can't remember exactly where we first met but it was likely to have been an IATA IAC meeting somewhere in the world or a catch up in DC or maybe even Phoenix. John Byerly or Mike Korens undoubtedly said you should meet Nancy and I was probably suspicious of how could she a potential ally.
Instead she was not only an ally, who was a futurist and incredibly progressive on global aviation policy, but we also became great friends. Nancy was so knowledgeable, worldly and kind. She always found the right balance of real talk, frank advice, honesty all wrapped in a velvet glove said with care.
I loved our dinners and drinks between events and conferences and am fondly thinking of laughs and debates in Geneva, Washington, Dubai and Phoenix.
As a female leader in a male-dominated industry she was a pioneer, who could perfectly pick her moment to unpick someone's argument or support a colleague. She chaired sessions with such aplomb that even the bombastic would speak 50 per cent less at the mere sight of Nancy hovering over the mic button or near a gavel. Most of all I loved Nancy's kindness, wider interests in life, the love of her family, asking questions about your life, staying in touch post FedEx in to retirement. In fact our last email was just a hello post an announcement we made at Qantas that simply said 'congrats on your news. Remembering the lovely dinner we had the last time the AGM was in Doha. Stay well, Nancy xx'.
Vale Nancy my friend.

Nancy was my moot court partner and close friend at Virginia Law in 1974-76. We lived in converted barn apartments on top of Brown’s Mountain (now MontAlto) with a group of law students, peaking down through the mist to see Monticello. It was a special time.
She will be missed.

I had the honor of knowing Nancy for 35 years, when she was a young attorney at FedEx, and I was a junior lawyer supporting FedEx on DOT matters. Over the years, Nancy and I had a warm, enjoyable relationship, sharing laughs, legal expertise and a love of travel. Although Nancy seemed to be a "no nonsense" type, she had a wry sense of humor, and a very, very kind heart. I will miss our chats over lunch and cocktails, and her generosity of spirit. Nancy was always prepared to help answer tough legal and policy questions, and share intel on fast-moving legal developments. Throughout all of the demands she faced, Nancy was a devoted mom, sharing pictures of Sarah and Ben, and taking pride in all they do... Rest in peace, Nancy. I will miss you a great deal. - Anita Mosner-
