Nancy's obituary
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Nancy Green on March 11, 2025. Born on December 16, 1959, Nancy lived a life full of warmth, generosity, and kindness. An epitome of affection and care, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Nancy is survived by her loving daughter, LeAnne Green; her siblings, Jess, Tony Taylor, Billy Green, Carl Taylor, and Elvester Taylor; her nieces and nephews, Sheena, Desean Duncan, Jasmine Duncan, Amina and her cousin, Sarah Duncan along with multiple relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Christella Taylor, Julius Green and Geneva Harden; her aunt, Margaret, and her brother, Donald.
Nancy was a proud alumna of Charlestown High School and Northeastern University, where she graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 2000. Following her graduation, she relocated to New Jersey in 2003. After a career in Health Care, which spanned over two decades, Nancy retired in 2024.
A devoted believer, Nancy was a regular attendee at Times Square Church and participated in mission trips with the congregation. She also offered her time and energy as a volunteer at the All Stars Project, contributing significantly to her community. Nancy was a lover of chocolate and peanuts, and she could always be found with a cup of tea in her hand. Her taste in music ranged from R&B to worship songs, and she enjoyed a good comedy or western TV show, along with Army Wives. She also took pleasure in live theatre performances.
Known for her love of literature, Nancy could often be found immersed in a book, or attending the Union Public Library or Bible study. She also enjoyed writing and made her mark as a published author with her memoir, "It's All Gravy". Her favorite vacation spot was the beautiful island of Jamaica, and she believed in providing for communities in need.
In her life, Nancy embodied virtues of care for others and a relentless pursuit of the positive, lessons she generously shared with those around her. Her greatest accomplishments include reuniting her family, participating in mission trips to Haiti, and publishing her memoir. Nancy leaves behind a beautiful legacy of kindness, generosity, and prayer for those in need.
It's impossible to forget Nancy's warm and polite nature, her unabiding love, and her genuine care for everyone she encountered. Her loss is deeply felt, but her devotion to God, her care for others, and the strong network of friendships that she nurtured over the years, will forever remain in the hearts of all those privileged to have known her.
