One of the things I miss is having Nancy be a constant encourager to people on Facebook. My kids were children when she was at Cedar Park, teaching them in Children's Church. But she continued to show interest in them and uplift them with comments even after they were in their 30's and parents themselves. She made everyone feel valued.

I think about Nancy every time I walk into BCF. She was my friend, my mentor, my counselor and even better she was my sister in the Lord. Words cannot express how much I miss her. I look forward to seeing her again so I can see her beautiful smiling face. She was truly the best!

The first time I ever met Nancy, when she and Jim moved back to Marquette for a time, was in the basement of the family home on Allouez. I was going through a hippie phase and liked eccentric clothes and long hair. Apparently I didn't fit her pre-expectations, because she exclaimed, "THIS is your church-organist, nerdy kid brother???" Which I took as a compliment! Our relationship took many turns, and we were always close. I will miss her!

For many years Nance was able to travel 'home' to visit the River... It just so happens that I live on the River.. our home area, so I got to enjoy her company. We shopped, we talked, we laughed and we shopped.... oh and we shopped.... went to lunch... boat rides... There was never a moment that wasn't enjoyed by me, being in her company. I loved to hear how her mind worked with such compassion and "no pity" attitude. If you have been hurt... get up... start planning what is next... don't dwell on the past... move on! I loved that she was so loved by so many.… I knew her my entire life. I have always been very proud of her....I will love her until I die... whether she is here or not. As for stories...? I have some I shouldn't share ... some I won't... but none that would not measure up to the person we all loved and will miss terribly.
