Nancie's obituary
Nancie Walsh Montgomery, 64, of Malvern, PA, and Naples, FL, passed away on April 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Nancie’s greatest pride and joy were her two sons, John Gilmore Montgomery Jr. and David Thomas Montgomery (David R.), whom she lovingly raised on her own after the loss of her beloved husband, John, in 1997. Her loyal rescue dog, Rupert, remains in the care of her son Gil.
Nancie was born on May 12, 1960, to Thomas J. Walsh (deceased) and Claire Walsh, who resides in Naples, FL. Nancie was the cherished older sister of Ellen Marquis (Bob), Jackie Walsh, Thomas Walsh (Sheila), and Mollie Smith (Herb).
Nancie was a National Merit Scholar whose keen intellect stood out. She graduated early from Mount Saint Mary’s University after helping many classmates achieve accounting and business degrees. Nancie shared her father’s unique gift of being able to spell anything.
Part of Nancie’s brilliance was her ability to see the less fortunate. She was a champion for women and the marginalized and a quiet, but fierce advocate for those overlooked and underserved.
Nancie will be missed by her dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins, and scores of friends from her many walks through life.
