Nadim's obituary
On October 29, 2022, Nadim Adib Haddad, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home in Atlanta, Georgia at age ninety-two. He was born on December 31, 1929 to Adib and Linda Haddad in Ramleh, Palestine, and has been able to claim Palestine, Lebanon, and the United States home during his enriching life.
As a champion in the public health sector for over forty years, Nadim obtained his medical degree in ophthalmology from the American University of Beirut (AUB). He also earned his Master in Public Health degree from Harvard University and pursued doctoral research at Johns Hopkins University. Throughout his career and even from afar, Nadim continued to work closely with AUB by conducting research and supporting Master in Public Health (MPH) students. His legacy at AUB lives on through the Dr. Nadim Adib Haddad MPH Academic Achievement Award, granted in recognition of excellence in academic performance in the MPH program.
Nadim Haddad was preceded in death by his parents, Adib and Linda, and his three siblings, Hilda, Bassem, and Samir. He is survived by his loving wife, Mona Saba Haddad; his four sons, Issam (Linda), Haitham, Layth (Emily) and Juwayn (September); and his grandchildren, Alexander, Nicholas, Mark Seri, Dana, Mona, Cameron, Emma, Lily, Sara Jane, Anna Rose, Taylor, and Mia.
Nadim shines as both an anchor and compass. He will be remembered for his unconditional love, deep loyalty, strong sense of duty, steady patience, and sharp wit. The memory of Nadim lives on in the soil of Palestine, in the bustle of Beirut, and in the hearts of his family and friends scattered across the globe.
A celebration of life will be held in the family home in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 2 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dr. Nadim Adib Haddad MPH Academic Achievement Award to honor his passion for public health.
