She was born on February 23, 1932 to Leota and Leland Porter in Toulon, IL at home. She was a 1950 graduate of Toulon High School. On January 28, 1951 she married Donald Otis Phillips.

 She is survived by her children: Donald Mark,(Bonnie)Phillips, Mitchell,(Hyon)Phillips, Morgan,(Karen)Phillips, and Melissa,(David Sturgeon); her grandchildren: Dr. Britney Phillips,(Philip Wilkins), Lindsey Phillips, Dr. Mitchell Phillips Jr,(Laura), Cori,(Lance)Croft, Hannah Phillips, William,(Brooke) Phillips, and Weston Phillips. Her great-grandchildren: Noah Wood, Arabella Wilkins, Amelia McCauley, Elijah McCauley, Liliana Wilkins, William Phillips, Olivia Croft, Milo Phillips, and McKenzie Croft.

She was a long time resident of Wheaton, IL, Prophetstown, IL and then moved to Corydon, IN. She is remembered by her life long friends Ruth Bartlett and Jan Foster.
