Myrna Flor's obituary
Myrna Flor Lazo Cruz, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and nurse, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025, in Taytay Rizal, Philippines. She was 78 years old.
Born on October 30, 1946, in Quezon City, Philippines, Myrna was the eldest of six children born to Leonides Ramos Lazo and Angelina Gamboa Cruz Lazo. From an early age, she embraced her role as a guiding presence among her siblings and carried that nurturing spirit throughout her life.
In 1972, Myrna moved to Dallas, Texas, where she built a meaningful career as a nurse at Baylor University Medical Center. Her dedication to caring for others defined her professional life for over three decades. In 2005, after more than 30 years of service in the United States, she returned to the Philippines to spend her later years closer to home.
Myrna was a devout Catholic whose faith was central to her daily life. She attended Sunday Mass faithfully and prayed the rosary each day. In her later years, she found deep spiritual comfort in praying The Chaplet of Divine Mercy daily—a testament to her enduring devotion.
She shared over fifty loving years of marriage with her husband Melencio L. Cruz Jr., with whom she built a family rooted in love and faith. Together they raised two children: Michelle (AJ) and Michael (Julienne). Her legacy continues through her four cherished grandchildren: Lance Edward, Miguela Francesca, Rafaela Francesca, and Patricia-Ann.
Myrna is also survived by her five younger siblings and many nieces and nephews and cousins and in-laws who will remember her warmth and strength. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and by her beloved niece Roma De Los Santos Low.
A funeral service honoring Myrna’s life was held on April 8, 2025, at San Juan Ebangelista Chapel on Bautista Street in Taytay Rizal, Philippines.
Final Resting Place: Mt. Zion Memorial Park Taytay Rizal Philippines
Her unwavering faith and lifelong commitment to caring for others leave behind a legacy of compassion and grace. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
