MuLain's obituary

MuLain Chin, of Weymouth, died unexpectedly on Monday, May 6, 2024. She was 79.

MuLain was born in China in 1945, and was the daughter of the late Su Harr Lee and the late See Hong Chow. She bravely immigrated to the United States with 4 children under the age of 8 in tow. Even though she did not know a single word of English and came from humble beginnings, she was determined to provide the best life for her children. MuLain worked in various positions for the Commonwealth of MA for over 25 years.

For those who knew her, MuLain was a woman of faith and lived her life by the Christian virtues of faith, hope and love. She was an exemplary mother and human being. There is no other woman who will have her fierce spirit, her incredible strength, and her strong dedication to her family, whom she loved so very much. MuLain always made everyone feel welcomed and loved by feeding those around her with her incredible cooking.

MuLain is predeceased by her much loved husband Kokyaw. Cherished mother to her children Kathy, Robert, Karen and husband Jon Ryan, and Tony. Beloved and proud grandmother to Jillian, Olivia, and Karina. Esteemed sister to Nancy Leong and her husband Tommy of Boston, Susie Lee and her husband Richard of Tewksbury, Amy Lee and her husband Bobby of CA, David Chow and his wife Susan of Billerica, the late Charlie Chow and his wife Sio Yu of CA, William Chow and his wife Michele and Mimi Choy and her husband Petrus of CA. She was the aunt to many and is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

A public viewing followed by a funeral service will start at 9:30 AM on Monday, May 20, 2024 at Keohane Funeral Home on 785 Hancock St, Quincy, MA.

In lieu of flowers, we prefer donations be made directly to Karen Chin via Venmo @karen27chin to avoid service fees (rather than through this website), so we may deliver your memorial donation in its entirety to the various organizations that our mother held dear to her generous heart.
