Background

Mui Chi was very healthy in September 2019. She began to have unexplained coughs in October. She also began to lose weight and have severe pains. She couldn’t eat, nor swollen, and was difficult to breath. It took 1.5 months and lost of 20 pounds then she was diagnosed with cancer. It was November. She did a PET-CT scan which she described the heat from the injected radioactive liquid was burning her whole body. Then, she was confirmed with stage IV cancer with unknown origin in December. There were 15+ different sites in her body with tumors with couple large ones. Cancer spread to her lungs, colon, and lymph nodes. She was then told to perform a serious of diagnostic tests in the hope to identify the primary site of tumor, which could help to find the appropriate treatment. In the next 1.5 months, she did two biopsies, a colonoscopy, plus other tests. All of these still led to inconclusive primary site. She was still given no treatment. After exhausting all diagnostic tools, she reached a point that she had So much difficulty breathing that she couldn’t even sleep at all. She found it hard to breath when sitting up. We sent her immediately to the hospital. Fluid built up in her lungs because of the cancer. She did the operation to take the fluid out. The next day after the operation, the doctor began to put her on a chemotherapy based on the best guess - treating it like colon cancer. She took 5 rounds of chemo treatments from Jan to April. Her body was weakened. She suffered a lot but she kept fighting. With specific pains on her neck and her abdominal, she took two radiotherapy treatments. Both of which caused severe pain to the nearby tissues. She was in so much pain. She ensured them. In May, pulmonary fibrosis caused her to have severe shortness of breath. She suffered even more. She was weaker and weaker everyday. In 2 week time, she progressed from couldn’t walk, to couldn’t talk, to couldn’t eat, to couldn’t stand, to couldn’t move her arms, to couldn’t control her bladders. Her suffering increased day by day until May 14th 2020, she passed away. Cancer took this strong fighter away. Contribute to American Cancer Society  Right arrow
