Morris's obituary
Morris Aubrey “Moose” Lasseter Jr., 62, of Cadiz, KY, passed away on March 20, 2026. He was born on September 11, 1963, in Albany, Georgia, to Morris Aubrey Lasseter Sr. and Margaret Latrelle Lasseter.
Aubrey was a man who never met a stranger. He loved to talk and had a way of making everyone feel like they were part of his family. Whether you had known him for years or just met him, you were sure to leave with a story and a smile.
He had a passion for working with his hands. He loved customizing and riding his Harley and spent many hours working on old cars, bringing them back to life. He also gave back to his community as a volunteer firefighter with the rescue squad, always willing to help when someone was in need.
More than anything, Aubrey was incredibly proud of his son and his grandchildren. He loved them deeply and spoke of them often, and they were one of the greatest joys of his life.
He is survived by his son, Anthony Lasseter and wife Rachel Lasseter; his grandchildren, Weston and Ansley Lasseter; his brothers, Mark Lasseter (with children Blake Lasseter and Kendall Lasseter Shattles) and Mickey Lasseter (and partner Randy Garratt); his sister, Jeannie Lasseter Durham (husband Jim Durham and son Wade Glass); and his stepfather Howard Milner.
Aubrey will be remembered for his big personality, his kind heart, and the way he made people feel seen and welcome. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A small celebration of life for family will be announced at a later time. In the meantime, those who wish to honor Aubrey are encouraged to take a ride on their motorcycle or drive a fast car in his memory—just the way he would have liked it.
