Morgan Hopkins, age 28, from Grass Valley, CA, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on October 18th at her home in West Palm Beach, FL.
Morgan was born and raised in Grass Valley, CA where she spent most of her life and developed a deep love for the natural beauty of the area. Her hobbies were playing her guitar and being in the presence of water. Her gentle spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was kind-hearted and had a way of making people feel seen and cared for. Her smile could light up a room and her warmth drew others in effortlessly. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones, friends, and anyone who had the opportunity to know her.
Morgan met the love of her life, Karla van Zyl and they were married last year in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she and Karla started building a life together. While there, she continually contacted the people she loved, never letting distance dim her connections.
She is survived by her wife Karla van Zyl, parents Randy & Michele Hopkins, grandparents Gary & Cheri Hopkins and Linda Davis, aunt & uncle Denise & Mike Barron, cousins Jake & Emilie Barron, and her service dog Sierra. She is predeceased by her grandfather Bruce Davis, her uncle Shaun Palmer, and her beloved dogs Sophie & Iris.
A celebration of life will be planned in the near future. To honor Morgan, take a walk outdoors and talk to her along the way. You will feel her gentle presence the way many of her family and friends already have.
