Monty's obituary
After decades of living with chronic illnesses, Montford “Monty” Naylor Milton passed away peacefully at home in New Haven, CT in November 2023 at the age of 64. He leaves behind his mother, Clara Naylor-Hill; siblings Karen King, Clifford Hill III, Jim Coffey, Chris Hill, Melissa Baird, and Mary Hill. He was predeceased by his father, Ulysses; bonus father, Clifford Hill Jr., and brothers, Michael Milton and Donald Milton.
Monty was born on January 12th, 1959, in Central Islip, NY to Ulysses and Clara (Naylor) Milton. He grew up surrounded by a large, loving extended family that included maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
As a young man, Monty began his first career in the screen printing industry before discovering his life-long passion for barbering. As a licensed barber, he provided precise cuts across the country while making his vibrant presence known wherever he went. His fun-loving personality and unique sense of humor ensured that he never met a stranger, and he has many friends to show for it. Monty also had a creative soul; and it was expressed through his drawings, paintings, graphic art, and songwriting.
Monty cared very deeply about people and enjoyed serving his community as a recovery support specialist and an advocate for the elderly and disabled. He lived his life in a way that demonstrated that life can still be lived to the fullest even while one struggles with illness, addiction, or poverty. He was one-of-a-kind and will be greatly missed.
