Monte "View Time" Graves, affectionately known as View Time, but who mostly preferred Monte, died on March 6th, 2026. Born to Hazel Jackson Graves and Darryl Graves on July 26th, 1972 in St. Louis, Missouri, Monte was a shining light to all who knew him.

Monte was renowned for his generous and caring nature, bringing optimism and enthusiasm into every room he entered. He was a true fighter in every sense of the word, always willing to face challenges head-on with unwavering courage and resilience.

One of Monte's greatest lessons that would resonate with all of us was his belief in understanding and compassion. He always emphasized the need to be understanding towards others, even when they err, preaching against snap judgments and advocating for empathy and patience.

A gifted athlete, Monte's accomplishments on the football field were admired by many. He played football at Riverview High School, progressed to Kemper Military Academy and later showcased his talent at Western Illinois and Mizzou. This passion and dedication to sports were a testament to his strong character and tenacity.

Monte was a parent to Autumn Graves and Jaleel Graves (DeSheka) and a beloved grandfather to five grandchildren. He is survived by his parents, Hazel Jackson and Darryl (Charlene) Graves, paternal grandparents, brother Stan (Alicia) Jackson, brother Stephen (Brittany) Graves, his Aunt Marilyn, Aunt Lynnette, Aunt Pamela and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His love and devotion to his family were evident in the bonds he shared with them.
