Yenamandra (Benson) M, Monique age 55, of Saint Louis Park, passed away May 1, 2025, suddenly and unexpectedly. After a successful career in IT, Monique focused her attention on family and the arts. Monique spent many years in a professional dance company and both performed and taught belly dancing. She was an avid birder, often carrying her 'bins' out in nature. Recently she had re-devoted her time to writing and was also a committed language student, keeping her German skills honed with her German club and learning Spanish. Monique was a devoted Mother and valued family and friends, organizing many family trips, weekly card games, and outdoor adventures. Friends and family alike will deeply miss her sense of adventure, her wit, her sage and thoughtful advice, and her calm and rooted demeanor. Monique is survived by her husband Murthy, son Sanjay, step daughter Samyukta, siblings Michelle, Joel (Albina), Jason (Sarah), nephews Jon Jr, and Alexander. Nieces Yashaswi and Manaswi. Father-in-law Rama Sarma, mother-in-law Surya Lakshmi and sister in law Swathi (Kiran). Preceeding her in death were her mother Dorothy, father Peter, brother Jon, and sister Maureen.

Memorials preferred to Conservation Minnesota or the Audubon Society.

Monique’s Celebration of Life will take place on June 12th 4:45pm-9pm at Westwood Hills Nature Center, 8300 W Franklin Ave. St. Louis Park MN 55426.
