Monique's obituary
Monique (Nikki) Jeanette Michaud Batchelor, age 52 of Mesa, Arizona, passed away Monday morning, April 21, 2025 at the Lund Home in Gilbert, Arizona after a courageous battle with colorectal cancer.
Nikki was born January 26, 1973, in New Milford, Connecticut. She attended New Milford High School, and upon graduation in 1991 she obtained her license to become an LPN. She began her nursing journey at Southbury Training School in CT, which was only the beginning of a long and dedicated career that brought her to Trenton Psychiatric Hospital in Ewing, NJ; United Health Care; Gwinnett County Jail in Lawrenceville, GA; and Arizona State Prison in Florence, AZ. Nikki was the 2016 Recipient of the Superhero Award by United Health Care. Her selfless nature and unrelenting optimism made her a light in the lives of all who were lucky enough to cross her path.
In her free time, Nikki was a foodie and loved exploring all the restaurants in the city in which she resided. Additionally, she loved to travel, touring places such as St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, Colorado, Wyoming, Grand Canyon, and Las Vegas with her family and friends. She enjoyed time with her family at painting parties, creating a beautiful collection of artwork.
Nikki is survived by her children, Niccolo Clarizio and Gabriella Clarizio; parents Louella Shenko and Michel Michaud; step-father Robert Shenko, sister Michelle Lynch; innumerable cousins, aunts, uncles, niece, nephews, and friends; and her cat Molly.
