Soror Gary-Porter was such a bright light and instantly lit up the room every time I saw her. She was so kind and will be dearly missed.

2 Corinthians 5:8 . To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. There's a comfort in knowing that you are forever present with the Lord. My prayer is that I will see you again. My condolences to your family and all of us who were graced to know and love you. Until we meet again.... Thank you for bringing me to church, freshmen year💙. BSU ❤️

I’d like to offer my heartfelt condolences to Sean and family and loved ones of Monique.
Monique was like a sister to me, and she was an Auntie in every way to my daughter Savannah; her beloved “VannaBoo.” Her positivity, energy, and joy were truly infectious. I have never known anyone who lit up a room the way she did.
I honestly don’t know how I’ll walk into my Monday night SYNERGY dance fitness class without seeing her in my front row—-laughing, hollering, dancing her heart out. She followed me from Gold’s Gym when I first moved to Clayton to Riverwood Athletic Club, always supporting, always encouraging. Wherever she went, she carried a light that lifted me.
Over the years, as so many of my students become, she became a true friend. We shared a love for Baltimore Club and Jersey Club music, “that Go-Go music”, and every line dance we could get our hands on. She loved SYNERGY, and she was my most faithful Ride-or-Die front-row Diva.
She loved her husband Sean. She loved her Soror sisters (Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc). She loved her friends and family. And she loved God.
My peace comes from knowing I will see her again with our Heavenly Father one day. But on this earth, she will be deeply, deeply missed.
