Can’t believe you’re gone Aunty.. just got the news. You helped me during one of the toughest times in my life and treated me like your own. One of the sweetest souls I’ve ever came across. I’ll miss your phone calls and you asking “What you doing Nephew?!”. I’ll cherish all of our memories for the rest of my life. Always enjoyed pulling up on you playing games, dancing, eating and laughing. Thanks for all the home cooked meals.. you always told me how greedy I was lol. Never knew someone I met at work would be one of my best friends in this lifetime. I’ll always be your “MarkiPoo”. Thanks for all your advice and being there for me when I was young, dumb and had no one. Didn’t always tell me what I wanted to hear, but you told me what I needed to hear. We had disagreements and would be able to move on a few minutes later lol. Glad we were able to talk a few months back and you were so proud of me and told me you love me. Wish I could talk to you just one more time and hear your laugh. Still can’t believe you’re gone but part of me is at peace knowing you’re with your mother and loved ones now. I know you’re in heaven dancing, laughing and doing your yoga. My condolences to family and friends. Aunt Mizette was truly an amazing lady with a heart of gold.

I worked with Mizette at Troutman Sanders and we became friends. She even visited me here in New Mexico where I now live. We always shared a lot of laughs. I will miss you Mizette.

I didn’t know you long, but from the moment I met you I knew you were someone I’d never forget. I’m really struggling writing these words because I haven’t accepted the fact that you’re really gone. Some people come in your life for a reason and some come for a season. You came in my life for both. In five short months we laughed together, cried together, prayed together, danced together, talked on the phone for hours, joked together and so much more. You always said I helped boost your confidence when you really needed it, but what you didn’t know is half the time that I was speaking to you, I was really speaking to myself. You taught me to always be UNAPOLOGETICALLY me, always have a plan and never stop believing in myself and to live life to the fullest. You taught me that we all experience struggles in life but it never hurts to help someone who’s struggling more than you. You were so many things to so many people but to me you were my friend and someone I grew to love. I can still hear your voice, feel your hug and hear that loud obnoxious laugh. You’ll be missed tremendously, Mizette. I hope you’re dancing and enjoying no more pain or suffering.
Be free my friend 💗
Until we meet again,
Ri

She really had a heart for people and always sought out ways to make your day. These last months have been a bit more bearable because of you my dear friend. But today is really going to be a rough one, subconsciously expecting to see or hear you say "242! Come gimme my hug nephew! You see what they gat in there? I een eatin' dat. I gern make me a sandwich". You got your promotion friend. Happy for you, sad to see you go!

Heartfelt condolences to my dear friend and classmate, Mizette Coakley. It was an honor to have known her. She was a shining light in the hearts of many persons, especially, the SAC Class of 1978. She will always be remembered as a jovial, fun, kind, witty and loving person who brought so much joy and laughter to our lives. Your memories will live on. Take your rest my friend as you joined your parents, siblings and other loved ones in your heavenly home.
