I think about you every year on 1/1: To my childhood friend and neighbor, the world is less bright without you in it. Heaven earned an awesome angel the day you were called home, Dana. You're missed by many as we continue our journeys, and the memories from our childhood days always remind me to smile. Rest in peace.

I found out recently about Mitch passing. Just want to express my condolences. He was my neighbor growing up in Midland. He’ll be missed.

How can forget my very first men’s haircut client experience ? Impossible

I meet Mitch through his brother, Todd and his lovely wife Angel . He’s accepted the challenge to be my first haircut experience at the salon. Poor guy wasn’t having idea what is the consequences was about to be come .

I remember, I was very nervous and sweating and he was relax trying to calm me down when I was performing the service , so when he starting to say “Dyego that looks good , you are doing great “ and my self thinking I’m glad this guy have no eye in the back of the head so then he’s not able to what’s was going on the back of his head 😳 , luckily, Justin (hairdresser) come to rescue him from a terrible first trial hair cut experience , finishing his hair  . Thanks God for that 🙏

Of course he was being generous and gentlemen, with sweet words in a big heart .

Mitch was one of the kindest most genuine people I have ever met. We were on a FAA trip and his gentle spirit was so clear. I remember how he kindly shared his knowledge throughout my FAA career. He truly made a difference in my life and in others, I am sure!. I'm sorry very sorry for your loss, I know your heart is breakingAngel, sending prayers, good thoughts and lots of love!
A great manager and friend!

I met Mitch (Dana to me) in junior high school and we became tight friends right away. We discovered Punk Rock and skateboarding together. I definitely remember him having an unusual amount of aviation knowledge for a kid our age. I have so many fond memories of him and our adventures back then. I truly wouldn’t be who I am without having known him.

I am so glad that he continued to pursue his love of music and aviation. I regret losing touch with him over the years, but I’ve seen his Facebook posts and know that he deeply loved Angel, their fur babies, and all his friends and family. It is also obvious from the outpouring of messages how much he meant to so many people and how many lives he touched. He will be missed.

Mitch invited me to shadow him for a day just before Covid when he was working at the FAA Air Traffic Control System Command Center.  He was very nice and loved to share his knowledge.  He showed me all around and I worked with the people who worked under him. I am really glad he gave me that opportunity. It was always nice to talk to him when we worked on the same floor. Praying for you and your family. RIP.

I am so honored to have shared many memories with Mitch, his wife, their kitties, and the entire family and friends they connected us with. He was my brother-in-law, my friend, and, at times, my guitar coach.

It's hard to pick which memories to share because there were plenty, and he made them all special. Instead, I'm going to write an open letter to him.

Dear Mitch,

Last week a hole was put through our hearts. One that can never be filled again. Selfishly, in addition to the many plans that you and Angel had together, we also had some plans that we hoped you to be a part of things like:

- Watch Auggie grow up. (Your gentleness and love for him always warmed our hearts)

- Explain to us the next 100 Star Wars movies.

- Go on an RV trip with us at least one more time.

- Teach Auggie how to play the guitar.

- Teach Auggie about airplanes.

- Take Todd on a flight lesson with you.

- Buy that airplane you really wanted.

- Go to Disney World with us.

- Take another cruise with us.

- Continue to make us laugh.

and many more...

Also, I wished we had more time to tell you things like:

- Auggie asked to call uncle Mitch many many times, and we sad no because we didn't want to bother you late nights and during work hours. Seeing you two talk/play filled our hearts.

- Every time we saw anyone, anywhere playing guitar, we thought of you, and the same goes for airplanes.

- Thank you for ALWAYS being there for all of our life milestones.

- You were a role model to many.

- Todd has a tremendous love, respect, pride, and admiration for you and what you've accomplished. There's never a day in which you didn't cross his mind.

- Your dry, sarcastic, and understated humor made me happy every time.

-Your humbleness and ability to make sad moments a bit happier was unmatched.

- We wanted to share so many places we've been with you.

Though there may not be new pictures to be taken, we shared many moments that will be treasured forever.

We will miss your presence, but the hole in our hearts will become a scar that we will take as a symbol of remembrance to have known you and to have shared laughs with you.

Much much love,

Junior
