Miss Marjorie's obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Miss Marjorie Francis-Lewis, a beacon of love, kindness, and generosity, who departed this world on February 21, 2025. Born on August 31, 1928, Marjorie led a fulfilling life, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.

In 1977, Marjorie retired from Macy's, leaving her colleagues with delightful memories. After retirement, she made Tampa, FL her home in 1990, where she continued to spread warmth and cheer. A devout attendee of Christian Freedom Ministries, Marjorie's faith was a compass that guided her throughout life's journey.

Marjorie was also an active volunteer at St. Jude's Ranch for Children Charitable Foundation, reflecting her enduring commitment to causes she believed in. Her penchant for Coca-Cola, music by Stevie Wonder, and shows like The Voice were well-known amongst her friends and family. She was a dedicated supporter of The Green Bay Packers and was often found engrossed in a game of Scrabble or attending performances of Hamilton.

A passionate reader, Marjorie cherished walks and enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii. Closer to home, Delmont Public Library was one of her favorite spots. She was an advocate for St. Jude and loved the color yellow. Described as witty, nurturing, supportive, and adaptable, Marjorie firmly believed in trusting one’s final thoughts.

She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that will continue to inspire. Marjorie is survived by her granddaughters Ashlyn William and Damani Mcqueen, grandsons Demarcus Mcqueen, Steven Francis, Josiah William, and Michael Francis, cousin Tangela Phillips, sister Elizabeth Francis, son Stanley Francis, daughter Charlotte Francis, son-in-law Darrell Phillips, and daughter-in-law Doretha Francis.

The memory of Marjorie will always shine brightly in our hearts, and her lessons of trust, love, and generosity will guide us forever. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
