Minnie's obituary
A Celebration of Life
The late Minnie Brown Smith, 91, was born in White Hall, SC on September 19, 1931 to Chris and Dolly Huggins. She entered into eternal rest on March 10, 2023 in Simpsonville, SC. She will be remembered as a loving mother with a beautiful spirit and a contagious smile. Minnie attended school in Colleton County and went on to establish a thriving business as a master seamstress. She was a devoted member of Ebenezer AME church, where she sang on the choir and was involved in a number of church activities for more than 50 years until her illness prevented her from participating. She was well respected in her community for her skills and talent for designing custom made garments and other goods. Minnie had an amazing talent for fashion design. She not only enjoyed creating unique pieces, she enjoyed wearing them as well. She was a Diva and a fashionista long before we knew what they were. Minnie leaves to cherish her memories; her children Steven (Vanessa), Glendora (Kevin) and Darlene (Edwin); her 12 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Jinks; sister-in-law, Anna Huggins; aunt/s, cousins and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Chris and Dolly; her sons, Clinton (Diana) and Larry (Elizabeth); her daughter, Marvetta Simmons; her grands Jamond Simmons, Velvet Brown and Precious Simmons; her siblings, James Wright, Joseph Huggins, Mary Huggins, Clarence Huggins, Leola Garrett, Rachel Huggins.
Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You will remain in our hearts forever.
