Minnie Emma (Heller) Aken passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 16, 2025 at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her husband William Earl Aken December 28, 2023. She is survived by 5 children, Cassie Williams, Bobette Bauermann, Brett Aken, Ted (Sheri) Aken, and Lori Baird. She had 18 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Minnie was born and raised in Ashton, Idaho where she enjoyed the comforts of small town living and everyone knew everyone. She loved having a week off of school to help her grandparents with harvest every year.

After marrying Bill in 1960, they would move to California where she became a crossing guard for the California Highway Patrol. She loved seeing the smiling faces of the kids each day, especially on the first day of school.

Minnie continued her love of being a crossing guard for many years after they moved back to Idaho in the 80's, even in the below zero temperatures. She was thankful to those parents who stopped by with a cup of hot cocoa.

They finally landed in Yuma, AZ to retire closer to their daughter Bobette. Bobette has been a significant part of their care during the years. The warmer climate was a welcome blessing and so was Bobette.

Minnie's wishes were to be cremated.

No funeral or memorial services are immediately planned. Family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled.
