Miles's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Miles Blackstone, who left us far too early on September 11, 2024. Born in 2004, Miles made the most of his 20 years, leaving an indelible impact on the lives he touched.
Miles's memory will be forever cherished by his father, William Blackstone. With William, Miles cultivated a special bond, built on mutual respect and love. Apart from his family, Miles found comfort in the simple pleasures of life - his favorite foods and drinks. He had a peculiar fondness for cigarettes and root beer, an unconventional pairing that brightly illustrated his distinct personality.
A bookworm at heart, Miles was an avid reader with his favorite literary work being 'The Blood Meridian' by Cormac McCarthy. He was a passionate music lover as well, with Mac DeMarco and Tyler The Creator frequently gracing his playlists. Miles was also a fervent viewer of the TV series 'House MD'.
He held a soft spot for the Catalina Foothills High School baseball team and found joy in playing the game. Miles's love for baseball was surpassed only by his love for smoking, a pastime he found oddly therapeutic. Miles also loved to dance, and his energetic, uninhibited moves never failed to light up a room.
His favorite color being gold is no surprise. Miles was as radiant, warm, and precious, just like the hue he adored. In his 20 years, Miles accomplished many feats, including graduating from Edge High School, a testament to his perseverance and hard work. The best lesson he advocated was, "Do what feels good.", a reflection of his dedication to live life on his own terms.
Miles was known for his characteristic humor, often quipping, "I'm only well versed in cigarettes and looking like a Twink." His witty and charming personality will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Contributions can be made online at https://everloved.com/life-of…. Let's honor Miles's memory by working towards preventing such devastating losses in the future.
Miles Blackstone, a unique soul with vibrant tastes and a loving heart, may not be with us physically, but his spirit lives on, reminding us of the importance of authenticity, humor, and living life on our own terms.
