What is the history of your organization?
Founded in 2012, The Farmer’s House was launched as the combined dream of two mothers on a mission to improve opportunities for the children with developmental disabilities. The organization began with the launch of a Seeds of Change Garden where individuals with developmental disabilities from Platte County, Missouri and their families joined together in the planning, planting, careering and harvesting of several vegetable gardens over a growing season. Today, The Farmer's House operates four signature programs: Early Work Experience, Community Integration/Day Habilitation; Employment Services and Social Enrichment. Combined the programs positively impacting the lives of 350 individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
Quality individual-focused programming along with a commitment to excellence are Hallmarks of our organization which led to our initial and ongoing accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
