Mila's obituary
She is survived by her three daughters, Marite Antone of Winnetka, Tani (John) Leeper of Simi Valley, and Elena (Michael) Johnson of Mission Viejo; one brother, Luis (Elvie) Otazu of Arizona; one sister, Chiqui (Boy) Reyes of Sydney, Australia; grandchildren, Samantha Velasco, Moani Antone, Nathan Antone, Emma Johnson, and Noah Johnson; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Mila was born on May 28, 1933 in Manila, Philippines to Enrique and Consuelo (Hernandez) Otazu. She made a career as a telephone operator for over 5 decades both in the Philippines and in the United States.
She was blessed with an infectious smile and a compassionate heart to help others with whatever she could offer. Mila enjoyed spending time with family, playing mahjong, dancing, cocktail hour, dining out, going on trips, and the movies. During her last years, Mila found enjoyment being surrounded by family and friends in the comfort of her home. She loved watching her shows, such as Law and Order, from her favorite reclining chair, playing games on her iPad, and occasionally indulging on a special order of burger, fries, and a vanilla shake.
A private viewing will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021.
