Mike's obituary

Mike “Big Mike” Longoria went home to Jesus on May 20, 2025, at age 70.

Mike was born to Sallie Mae and Benny Longoria on July 11, 1954, in Marlin, Tx.

Mike was a simple man; he loved life in the great outdoors, hunting and fishing. A truck driver by profession, he found solace in the open road and the solitude it offered. He had a deep appreciation for Westerns and good food, and a hearty laugh that was as infectious as his kindness. He was a godly man who believed in the importance of kindness, a lesson he sought to share with all he met.

Mike was not just a man who loved sports, wildlife and the open road, but a man who loved to love. Mike's legacy is one of kindness and family, a testament to the powerful bonds he fostered throughout his lifetime.

Mike will forever be remembered by his loved ones as a beacon of love, kindness, and faith. His gentle spirit, infectious laugh, and love for life will remain in our hearts forever. He will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mike is survived by his wife of 45 years Anita Longoria, daughters LaShundra Woods and Keisha Garnett,  Grandchildren Mikaley Applewhite, Anisha Garnett, and Ashley Garnett, nephew Benito Longoria, and his brother Phillip Longoria.

Psalm 91:11

“For He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.”

Exodus 23:20

“See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.”
