Mike Delahunty's obituary

Michael James Delahunty

Michael James Delahunty, age 61, passed away in Flagstaff, Arizona on November 8th, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer. Michael was born in California in 1959 to Verna Mae Blake and Barry James Delahunty, both of whom preceded him in death.

Michael lived in California and Utah before settling in Flagstaff, Arizona. He attended Northern Arizona University and later started his own business, Mt Elden Gutters. Michael took a lot of pride in his work and helping people in any way he could. He overcame a lot in his life, including a debilitating auto accident when he was young and addiction in later years. He was independent and strong, a kind man, and a man who loved the Lord.

From an early age, Michael had an adventurous spirit and relished in the peace, beauty and solitude of being out in nature, often going on extended hiking or camping trips on his own. He was passionate about life and getting together with family and friends. He was always ready for a hike, an adventure, or a road trip. Michael had a large presence and a very hearty laugh that will be deeply missed by many.

Michael is survived by his brother Ryan Delahunty, his sister and brother-in-law Kathaleen and Trevor Daul, his niece Indya Daul, and his stepbrothers, Richard Blake and George Blake. He is dearly missed by his family and friends who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.

Vickie Mae Blake

Vickie Mae Blake passed away on January 22, 2017. She was never given a memorial and her son Mike's dying wish was that she would be honored along side him at his celebration of life. Vickie was a ray of sunshine, always brightening every room with her huge smile. Her heart and life was deeply committed to her son Mike. In her later years she became involved and dedicated to attending church at Flagstaff Tabernacle and made many friends there who loved her to the end. Vickie enjoyed being outside tending to her garden and being in God's creation. She had a great love for the Lord and was desperately missed by her surviving son Mike until he too went to meet her only a few years later.
