Mike's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mike Dantzler, a beloved father, husband, and brother. Born on November 27, 1961, Mike departed this life on November 8, 2023.
He will be deeply missed by his loving family: his wife, Ternisha, who he happily married in 2007; his sons, Jermaine and Brandon; his daughter, Lafay, and his siblings, Lanay and John Dantzler. He was predeceased by his parents, Nathan and Mary Dantzler, and his brother, Dennis Dantzler.
Mike's life was marked by his warm, kind, passionate, and funny personality. He cherished the simple pleasures of life, like enjoying his favorite foods, pinto beans, neckbones, and cornbread with a Coca Cola on the side. An ardent reader, he loved the book "Rich Dad Poor Dad" and was often found immersed in its pages. Music was an integral part of his life, specifically the track 'Party like Back in The Day' which often graced his home.
Mike was an avid fan of The Green Bay Packers and NFL football, with most weekends spent either watching a game or playing dominoes with friends. He loved the peaceful activity of fishing and often took strolls around the park. His favorite vacation spot was the vibrant city of Las Vegas, while locally he was often found fishing on the lake.
Always one to lend a hand, Mike deeply cared about helping people in need. He was known for his kindness and generosity, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire. One of his greatest accomplishments was remodeling houses, earning him the moniker of the best handyman there is.
His funeral service was held on November 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Leflore County Civic Center. It was a warm reflection of his life-long lessons, especially the importance of being there for someone through hard times, which he taught us all.
Mike Dantzler was a beacon of kindness and generosity, leaving an unforgettable impact on everyone who knew him. He will be dearly missed, and his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he loved.
