Michael's obituary
Michael David Botello, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025 at the age of 65. He was born on June 8, 1959 in Fremont, Ohio to parents Juan Rubio Botello and Beulah Inez Campbell (Maddox). Michael grew up in Fremont and was a proud graduate of Fremont Ross High School. He met the love of his life Leslee in 1986 and later married her on June 16th, 1990. Together they embarked on a beautiful journey, raising a family with love and laughter. He worked his earlier days in construction and owned Botello Builders. He later retired his construction career and went on to become a successful health insurance broker. Together, Michael and Leslee co-owned Workforce Benefits.
A true family man, Michael always put his family first. Beyond family, Michael’s biggest passion in life was music. He was an avid guitar player and loved sharing his music with others. When Michael wasn’t playing the guitar, he could be found spending time boating or traveling with his wife. He also had a great love for his dogs Flash & Milo. Michael was a compassionate and generous person who touched the lives of many. His laughter and personality was contagious to everyone he met.
Michael is survived by the love of his life, Leslee; children, McMichael, Mychell (Kyle), Casey (Michael), Anthony; grandchildren, Alex, Sheldon, Cheyanne, Ethan, Bradley, Kameryn, Emeraih, Elyjah; great grandchildren, Lenna, Davie, Ronnie, Leo, Westan, Alessio; siblings, Juanita, Juan, Linda, Robert, Gloria, Angelo, Tivurcio, Mela, Mario, Maria, Mark
He was preceded in death by his parents Juan and Beulah; siblings Wanda Lee, Joe, Matthew
A private Celebration of Life will be held June 7th.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Cancer Center in honor of Michael's memory.
