Miguel (Mike)'s obituary

Miguel “Mike” Martinez, 81, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and cherished member of the Marana community, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 18th, 2025. Born on October 1, 1944, Mike passed away following an unexpected accident near his home.

Mike was known for his gentle spirit, warm heart, and unwavering faith. He prayed for everyone he knew and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His kindness, humility, and dedication to his family and community touched countless lives. As a devoted member of both the Marana community and his church, his presence brought comfort, strength, and joy to all who knew him.

Mike was also a man who found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed stopping by the local McDonald’s for a hot cup of coffee and often visited Jack in the Box for his favorite snack—onion rings. These small routines became meaningful parts of his daily life and are remembered fondly by those who loved him.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Gale Irene Martinez; his children Annette Heflin (Adrian), Johnnie Martinez (Crystal), Miguel Martinez (Anilu), Ismael Martinez (Jessica), and Erique Martinez; as well as 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored. He is also survived by his sister, Genoveva Rios. He was preceded in death by his father, Julio Martinez; his mother, Maria Martinez; and his siblings Julio, David, Mauricio, Esequel, Esmeregildo and Estephana Loza.

Mike proudly served in the United States Army, dedicating 18 months of honorable service to his country. He will be laid to rest at the Marana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, with service details to be determined. Family and friends will be invited to gather and honor Mike’s life, faith, and legacy.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of prayers, love, and support during this difficult time.
