Michelle's obituary

In Loving Memory of Michelle

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michelle Verga, our beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend, who left us peacefully on July 4th, 2025, at the age of 64.

Michelle was the devoted and selfless mother of Brianne and Nicole, whose lives she poured her heart into with unwavering love and support. Her greatest joy was being the proud grandmother of Adilyn, who brought a new light and laughter into her world.

Michelle was known as "Ome" to her granddaughter Adilyn, who affectionately called her the “adventure grandma.” From the time Addi was young, their time together was filled with joyful exploration — finding new parking, wandering through museums, and having great fun getting lost along the way. Their adventures were never about the destination, but about the fun, love, and curiosity they shared on the journey. And those journeys didn’t end there. Michelle was remembered by many for her adventurous spirit — always ready to get out, explore, and embrace the unknown. She traveled the world with wide eyes and an open heart, and she had many more trips and dreams on the horizon. She left us too soon, with her passport still waiting for new stamps and her heart full of plans.

In her career, Michelle touched countless lives through the love and care she gave to her patients. Her natural compassion, deep empathy, and dedication turned many patients and coworkers into lifelong friends. Michelle was also passionate about the businesses she helped build and run, pouring herself into every endeavor. She was especially devoted to protecting her local community, working actively to limit destructive development and preserve the beauty and integrity of the place she called home.

Michelle’s strength, warmth, and sense of responsibility were rooted deeply in the love she received and gave throughout her life. She is survived by her cherished mother, who at 94 years old continues to carry the wisdom and resilience that Michelle so gracefully embodied; her daughters, Nicole and Brianne, who have been by her side every step of the way; her brother; and her granddaughter Adilyn.

Michelle’s legacy lives on in the kindness she showed others, the family she built with unconditional love, and the countless lives she touched. She will be remembered for her fiery spirit, her strength, and the deep devotion she had for her family above all else.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support small, local animal rehabilitation centers—causes close to Michelle’s heart.

Though she is no longer with us, Michelle’s love will continue to shine through her daughters, granddaughter, and all who were lucky enough to know her.

In honor of Michelle’s life and legacy, we encourage everyone to speak openly with their doctors, trust their instincts, and get recommended screenings—including those for breast cancer—at the appropriate times. Early detection can save lives. Michelle faced her journey with courage, but no one should have to walk that path without the benefit of awareness and care. Let her story be a reminder to prioritize your health—for yourself and for the ones who love you.
