Michelle “Shelley”'s obituary

Mom was truly one of a kind. She was the life of the party, always ensuring that everyone around her was laughing, smiling, and having a great time. Whether it was through her love of music and dancing or her knack for cooking and baking, she had a way of making any gathering feel like a celebration.

She had a heart so big it seemed endless. Mom lived to give—her time, her energy, her love, and sometimes quite literally her clothes, shoes, and accessories. If she thought she could make someone’s day brighter, she wouldn’t hesitate. Her kindness was unmatched, and her generosity came from a place of pure love.

Mom’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found peace and strength in scripture and surrounded herself with uplifting music and positive messages. Her faith guided her in how she lived, teaching all of us the importance of love, grace, and compassion.

If you knew my mom, you also knew she loved all things girly—pink, glitter, bows, and flowers brought her so much joy. She had a contagious excitement for the little things in life. She would get so delighted over something silly or sweet, and that enthusiasm was so infectious that it made you excited too.

She absolutely adored holidays, especially Christmas. Every year, she’d go all out with decorations, gifts, treats, movies, and songs. Her home was like a winter wonderland, full of magic and love. And who could forget her signature touch of sending cards with confetti? It’s as if she wanted to spread joy and sparkle even when she couldn’t be there in person.

But most of all, Mom loved her family. Her six children and nine grandchildren were her pride and joy. She never missed an opportunity to make us feel special, whether it was being the first to wish us a happy birthday or planning something extraordinary for the holidays. She carried us all in her heart, including the grandchild we know she is holding close in heaven now.

Mom taught us all to live fully, love deeply, and always find the fun in life. Though our hearts are heavy with her loss, her legacy lives on in every laugh we share, every act of kindness we offer, and every moment we cherish together.

Shelley, our mom, grandmother, sister, and friend, you were a light in this world, and that light will never fade. We love you. We miss you. And we will carry your spirit with us always.
