Michelle's obituary

Michelle Beilman Lauterbach, 58, of Lexington, South Carolina (formerly of Aurora, Illinois), passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, after a long journey with chronic illness.

Born on October 31, 1966, in Aurora, Illinois, Michelle was known for her fierce spirit, quick wit, and her resilience through a lifetime of medical challenges.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Daniel Jon “Danny” Lauterbach, her father, Leo Beilman, and her nephew, SPC Timothy Clayton II.

Michelle is survived by her mother, Lynn Beilman, her sister, Kari Clayton (Tim Clayton), her sister, Leann Lowe (Chris Lowe), her brother, Steven Beilman, and a wide circle of extended family and friends who cherished her.

Michelle was lovingly known as Tussie Mimi to her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and countless honorary nieces and nephews, who adored her for her kindness, humor, and unique way of making each of them feel special. To all of them, she was simply the best Tussie Mimi in the world.

A special mention is given to her niece, Savannah Clayton, who cared for Michelle in her final year with extraordinary compassion, tenderness, and strength. Savannah walked alongside her Tussie through every challenge and helped guide her home with love.

Michelle was a generous gift giver. If you were lucky enough to receive a package from her in the mail, you knew you were loved and that she was thinking of you. Her greatest legacy was her desire to share small gifts of love with the people she cared about most.

Michelle would want all of us to find peace, love, and Jesus. ✌️

In keeping with her wishes, Michelle’s body was donated to science so that others might benefit from research and education.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on September 13, 2025, at The Harvest Church, 4865 Sunset Blvd, Lexington, SC 29072. Light refreshments and Publix cake will be served afterward, just as Michelle would have wanted.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Rheumatology Research Foundation (rheumresearch.org/donate) in Michelle’s memory.
