Michelle's obituary
In Loving Memory of Michelle Dawn Lowery
February 14, 1989 – September 13, 2020
With broken hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Michelle Dawn Lowery, a loving mother, devoted daughter, kind sister, and beautiful soul, who departed this life far too soon on September 13, 2020, at the age of 31 due to congestive heart failure.
Michelle was born on February 14, 1989, a Valentine’s Day gift to the world. She brought with her a spirit of warmth, resilience, and unwavering love. She was the daughter of the late Tina Marie Coley Lowery (born February 29, 1956; died September 17, 2017) and Cornelius Laymond Lowery Jr. (born April 3, 1944), and the granddaughter of Virginia Mae Beaver (March 23, 1934 – May 1986) and Archie David Coley Sr. (December 29, 1934 – December 1, 2012).
Michelle faced life with courage and honesty. Though she left high school during the 9th grade due to bullying, she never let that stop her. With determination and strength, she returned to complete her GED, showing her sons the importance of perseverance and self-worth. She later worked at Subway, where she was known for her friendly smile, her hard work, and her kind heart.
In 2008, through an unexpected but fateful phone call, Michelle met the father of her children. Though they never married, their bond brought forth the two greatest joys of Michelle’s life—her sons, Jaylen Jamal Lowery (born December 17, 2009) and Isaiah Lewis McConneyhead (born April 3, 2013). Michelle’s world revolved around Jaylen and Isaiah. She loved them fiercely and unconditionally, always striving to give them her best, teaching them compassion, strength, and the value of family.
Michelle is also survived by her half-sister, Tonya Thomas Coley Morton (born June 5, 1981), along with numerous family members and friends who were touched by her quiet strength and open heart.
To know Michelle was to know someone who never gave up, no matter the obstacles she faced. Her laughter, her gentle spirit, and her fierce love for her children remain etched in the hearts of those who knew her. She was a light in the lives of many—tender, thoughtful, and true.
Though her time here was brief, Michelle's legacy lives on through her sons and the love she gave so freely. We find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved mother Tina, her grandmother Virginia, and her grandfather Archie, in eternal peace.
A private memorial will be held by family to honor and remember Michelle’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for continued support and love for Jaylen and Isaiah as they carry forward their mother’s light.
Rest in peace, Michelle. Your heart was pure, your love eternal, and your memory will live on forever.
