Michelle's obituary
Michelle Louise Brunetta passed away on September 14, 2025, in Redding, California, at the age of 60 surrounded peacefully by family and close companions. Born on November 20, 1964, in Burlingame, California, Michelle lived a vibrant and expressive life marked by creativity, resilience, devotion to those she loved, and a deep appreciation for beauty in all its forms.
For more than two decades, Michelle built a successful career as a talented nail technician across California. Her artistry and precision earned her admiration from clients and peers alike. Beyond the salon chair, she demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and versatility as a business manager in Redwood City for ventures including a skate and tattoo shop—endeavors that reflected her bold personality and commitment to self-expression. These paths lead to a long lasting impression on her colleagues and clients.
From a young age, Michelle embraced movement and expression. Between the ages of 7 and 12, she danced with enthusiasm and later became a cheerleader during her junior high and high school years. These early passions reflected the vibrant energy that would continue to define her throughout life.
Her passions extended far beyond her professional pursuits. Michelle was deeply committed to causes close to her heart. As an activist and advocate for self-care, she inspired others to prioritize their well-being while standing up for what mattered most. She stood firmly in her beliefs and encouraged others to honor their own. Her love for music, gardening, and travel enriched both her own life and the lives of those fortunate enough to share in these joys with her. Whether experimenting in the kitchen or planning her next travel adventure, Michelle embraced life with curiosity and joy. She loved cooking and often shared meals that brought people together. Her passion for music filled her home with rhythm and soul, while her talent in arts and crafts reflected her imaginative spirit. Gardening brought her peace, as did being near water—whether swimming or simply enjoying its calming presence which she especially cherished. This is where she found peace and renewal.
Family was central to Michelle’s life. She played an important role in helping raise her younger siblings and remained closely connected with them through the years. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Bianca; mother Esther; dad Jose; father Walt; sister Meri; brother Mark; best friend Trina; two nieces; four nephews; two great-nieces; three great-nephews; and her beloved dog Lilly.
Michelle was preceded in death by her brother Michael and nephew Keith.
Her strength in the face of illness was perhaps most evident in recent years as she bravely fought multiple cancers over an extended period of time. Through it all, she remained courageous and compassionate—a source of inspiration to many.
May the memory of Michelle Louise Brunetta continue to inspire joy, strength, and creativity in all who knew her.
