Michele Wilde-Kirby, 66, of Watsonville, CA, peacefully passed away on September 11, 2022, surrounded by loved ones, after a difficult battle with cancer

Michele was born on February 05, 1956, to Don and Marlene Wilde in the bustling city of San Jose.

She was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for many years and also a long-time volunteer of the Elkhorn slough foundation and the Caneros Creek association. She also regularly pursued her love of music and singing by singing blues in her band "Pocket Change" at many different venues. Later in life, she enjoyed creating handmade ocean-themed jewelry which she sometimes sold at street fairs. 

In 1990 she met Richard Kirby at her post office job. They went on to get married and have been married for years.

Michele is survived by her husband, Richard, her mother Marlene Wilde, her brothers Scott and Donald Wilde, her Daughter Elizabeth Lutus and grandsons Colton and Vance Peeples. Michele requested a celebration of life be held in her honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. We request all of Michele’s loved ones to join us in celebrating her beautiful life at the Wilde-Kirby Ranch on October 22, 2022, at noon. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Elkhorn slough foundation.
